Attendance & Make-Up Policy
 |
Due to the nature of private and semi-private
lessons, where an instructor has scheduled a
specific time to teach a single student, the
following attendance policies will apply:
- Direct contact to the instructor is
required instead of phoning the studio when a
lesson will be missed to ensure the instructor
receives the message as quickly as possible.
For an absence to be excused and to be
eligible for the group make-up lesson, the
instructor must be notified at least 3 hours
prior to the scheduled lesson. We appreciate
as much notice as possible for any planned
absences. Instructors will give students their
contact information at the first lesson.
- Excused absences will be made up in a
group lesson at the end of each semester by
each individual instructor. Unexcused absences
will not be made up.
- Missed lessons which are the fault of the
instructor will be rescheduled for a private
makeup.
- There will be no refunds for missed
lessons.

Withdrawal Policy
 |
Enrollment in classes or lessons at Lonestar
Performing Arts Studio is through the end of the
current season. The office must be notified
of withdrawal in writing from any class or
lesson prior to the beginning of the month in
order to stop tuition for the next month. Any
student that will be withdrawn from Lonestar
must submit a 30-day written notice to avoid
being responsible for the following months
tuition. In this event, all recital and contest
fees paid to that time will be non-refundable.
All withdrawals are written in our “Add/Drop”
book at the time of notification. Failure to
properly notify the office will result in
tuition continuing to be charged to your
account. By enrolling in a class or private
lesson, you have reserved a spot that could be
released for someone else. We sincerely
appreciate your cooperation and understanding of
this policy. |

Music Recital Fees
 |
Students in the Music Studio are encouraged to participate in our recital at the end of each semester. Recitals are not mandatory but strongly encouraged. Performance is an important part of becoming a mature and confident musician. Performances also provide students with the opportunity to share their hard work with their families, friends and fellow students. Recital Fees are used to offset the costs of facility usage, programs, awards, and other expenses associated with the performance. Recital fees are due on or before October 30th for the Fall Semester and on or before April 1st for the Spring Semester.
Recital fees are non-refundable.
Recital Fee: $ 40 per individual or $50 per family |

Practice Time & Parental Support
 |
Regular and consistent practice time outside of
the lesson is vital to the progress and
development of the student musically. Ideally,
the student should be very comfortable and
confident with new concepts by the end of a good
week of practice. The teacher will advise each
student individually regarding recommended
practice time. The more you put into it, the
more you will get out of it! Parents are always
welcome to stay for the lesson and are
encouraged to sit in on their child’s lessons
periodically to observe their progress
first-hand. The encouragement, support and
involvement of the parent, especially for
younger children, are critical to the outcome of
time spent in music lessons. |
